Temperament: Very peaceful but sometimes argumentative over food.

Comments: Don't be put off keeping discus, they are not as difficult or demanding as you think, especially captive bred specimens. They will quite happily live with non-boisterous fish like cardinal tetras and corydoras catfish. The main points of care are cleanliness, ideally water changes at least 3 times a week because they have a big appetite, youngsters eating 6 or more feeds a day, adults only requiring 2.
